Finance Technician – Utility Billing

The City of Zimmerman seeks an experienced full-time Finance Technician, specializing
in Utility Billing.

This position performs a variety of duties requiring knowledge of the
principles of accounting, daily public contact/customer service and serves as the primary
point of contact for the City’s utility (water and sewer) billing. Duties include assisting
customers in person, on the phone or by email, processing manual and electronic
payments, coordinating service requests, water shut-offs and certification of delinquent
utilities, as well as supporting daily front-office operations and other clerical duties as
needed. Decisions are made based on established policies and procedures, with difficult,
non-routine or complex problems resolved in tandem with supervisory staff. Portions of
the work requires judgement based on knowledge of accounting principles. Work is
performed under the supervision of the City Clerk/Treasurer.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Two-year degree in accounting,
bookkeeping, data entry, or related field of study desired. Minimum three years’
experience performing same or similar duties in a public or non-profit setting and
involving regular public contact. Must be proficient in Word and Excel software.
Experience with Banyon Utility Billing and Fund Accounting programs preferred but not
required.

2026 salary range $33.00 - $39.41 per hour plus comprehensive benefit
package.
